Welcoming Katie Messick to the Year-Round Team

We have exciting news from the beautiful Berkshires! We have completed our search for the Director of Philanthropy and are excited to welcome Katie Messick to the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA year-round team.

Katie’s connection to BCCYMCA began in the 1990s as a camper, participating in ICEP and Reach, and she returned several years later to lead three Travel and Service trips. These experiences sparked a lifelong commitment to service, including joining the Peace Corps in Paraguay. Katie brings over twenty years of non-profit experience in fundraising at mission driven organizations in the US and abroad.

Katie lives in Connecticut with her husband and two sons, and will be working remotely, while also traveling regularly to camp and also to connect with alumni and families. She will officially begin her role on June 28.

Please join us in giving Katie a warm welcome!

Emily has joined the year-round team after five years of being a seasonal summer staff member. A local resident, Emily enjoys the changes of pace that the seasons bring to the Berkshires. In the colder months, she enjoys crocheting, cooking, and baking. In the warmer months, she enjoys hiking and exploring with her husband and three kids (when they aren’t at Chimney!) You can also find her reading or painting whenever she finds the time. In the workplace, she prides herself on her organization and drive for efficiency. Her favorite part about camp is making connections with so many friends from all over the world. Emily looks forward to getting to know more camp families and colleagues in her new role!
