For some children, four weeks at camp feels exciting.
For others, it feels like a very big step.
The Starter Program is designed specifically for younger campers who are ready to try camp — but may not yet feel ready for a full four-week session.
Over two intentional weeks, campers are welcomed into the rhythm, traditions, and magic of camp life, with additional structure and support built in along the way.
Starter is not “less camp.”
It’s a thoughtful, confidence-building introduction to camp.
Starter campers participate in electives, swim lessons, evening programs, and traditions alongside their peers. The difference is the pacing and the support.
Our goal is simple:
To help campers leave feeling proud, capable, and excited to come back for more.
Starter is ideal for:
At Chimney Corners, Starter campers live in two dedicated cabins in our youngest CCC unit.
They are fully immersed in CCC traditions — creative arts, waterfront fun, farm, evening programs, and unit activities — while receiving additional encouragement and structure appropriate for younger campers.
Starter campers:
Starter at CCC honors the Open Circle philosophy — welcoming each camper exactly as they are while gently encouraging growth.
For many families, Starter becomes a joyful first chapter in a multi-year camp journey.
Many Starter campers return the following summer ready — and eager — for a full four-week experience.
Two weeks can be all it takes to build the confidence that lasts a lifetime.
