Celebrating our CEO, Amy Gutschenritter’s National Leadership Appointments

We’re proud to share exciting news with our BCCYMCA community. Amy Gutschenritter, CEO of Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA, has been elected to both the YMCA of the USA National Board of Directors and the National Board of Directors for the American Camp Association (ACA).

These appointments are a meaningful recognition – not only of Amy’s leadership, but also of Becket-Chimney Corners’ impact within the camping movement and the YMCA. They reflect the reach of our work, both here in the Berkshires and through our international YMCA partnerships.

YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) supports the nation’s 2,600 YMCAs and provides strategic direction to strengthen the Y’s mission of connecting all people to their potential, purpose, and each other. The Y-USA National Board of Directors is made up of 32 leaders who help guide the organization’s vision and future priorities.

In addition, Amy has been elected to the National Board of the American Camp Association (ACA), a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the quality of camp programs through education, research, and advocacy. ACA is also the only independent accrediting body for all types of camps, setting more than 300 standards for health, safety, and risk management across the camp industry.

“I’m incredibly honored to join both the YMCA and ACA National Boards,” said Gutschenritter. “At a time when our country is facing so much uncertainty, values-based organizations like the Y—and experiences like summer camp that build belonging, confidence, and connection—feel more important than ever. I’m proud that Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA is being recognized for the work we do with youth and families, and I’m grateful to represent our community on a national level.”

Please join our staff in congratulating Amy on these well-deserved appointments. We are excited to see BCCYMCA represented in national leadership spaces and look forward to the impact this will have on the future of camping and youth development programs across the country.
