In April, we welcomed Conor Doyle, an international staff member (and familiar face for many!) to work alongside our year-round team on an 18-month visa program. Many campers, staff, and families may recognize Conor from his four summers working at Camp Becket. Conor started with Becket in 2018 as the camp videographer, returning to us in 2022 as the Media Director, and 2023 as one of the Program Directors on Becket’s Ad Staff team.
Conor hails from Dublin, Ireland and in addition to his camp experience, he brings with him valuable expertise in communications, media, marketing, and design: having created, produced, and directed content including music videos and commercials!
In his 18-month program, Conor will spend the off-season working alongside our year-round programs team supporting staff hiring and training, camper recruitment, and summer program planning. Come June, Conor will be stationed at Camp Becket working as the Senior Program Director. In this role, Conor is eager to find ways to make staff feel supported and enthusiastic – this, he says, will trickle down to the campers and ensure that they have the great experience that they can expect at Becket and Chimney Corners.
We are excited to have Conor pilot this 18-month visa program and look forward to having some new energy join the year round team. When asked why he wanted to return to camp for an 18 month program, Conor says, “I really just love it here, and this was the perfect opportunity to return” – a sentiment that all of us camp folks can relate to.
