Grab your favorite Scandinavian sweater, jump in the car and head up to the Berkshires this Columbus Day Weekend for Fall Foliage Family Camp. This is it: Peak foliage weekend in the Berkshires, and the forests are spectacular! Go pumpkin carving, cider pressing or on a long hike in the woods! Sit by the fire on the crisp fall evenings. Get lost in the gorgeous foliage scenery as you canoe across Rudd Pond! Take the kids to the climbing wall, archery or play tennis and basketball. Fall Foliage Family Camp is a fabulous four day event that extends across the Columbus Day long weekend in October.
Fall Foliage Family Camp is our typical Berkshires autumn getaway.
Grab your favorite rocking chair in the Becket Library (circa 1927) and your favorite book and pull it up to the fire. Itâ's a great time to crochet, to chat, to hang out with friends to relax and enjoy your long weekend.
Classic campfires with skits performed by our staff and by your families' if you wish!
It's almost Halloween, so its time to practice those carving skills. We provide the pumpkins and the child-friendly carving tools. You supply the artistic talent!
Learn how apple cider was made at the turn of the century with our old-fashioned cider press. Plus you get to drink it afterwards. Hot or cold, it's natural and delicious.
There's something special about a late afternoon paddle on Rudd Pond, watching the Little Brown Bats catching the last bugs of the season across the water, hearing the occasional fish splashing, or you might get a glimpse of the beaver. Occasionally, guests will also see otters.
But most spectacularly, feeling like you're the only people in the world, canoeing as a family surrounded by fall foliage.
Take a tour with our staff and get out to see our famous Beaver Meadows - active beaver dams with beaver lodges that have flooded dozens of acres of our back country. It's a beautiful hike, and we'll teach you all the things we see and hear along the way.
Wind down your day with a quiet paddle on the serene Rudd Pond. Or embrace the steam and camaraderie of the famous Becket Sauna.
The greatest thing about our family camps is that you get to spend time with your family, real time, quality time. It's so easy to spend some time with the family, but at family camp, you can devote three full days to those you love most.
Families will have their very own Camp Counselors - they'll join you at meals and help plan your day! They're great resources for skits for the campfire and a whole load of camp games!
Experience the magic of summer's Cabin Chats with your own family. Your Camp Counselor will give you a suggested topic and then you can run your own Family Chat, with or without your counselor.
Most of our activities are family-centered, but every now and again, you can participate with other adults and kids will be supervised by our staff.
One evening of wacky kids games, supervised by our fantastic staff while adults share some quality social time.
