We are honored to lead the Changing Lives Campaign. Co-chairing this Campaign, we have reconnected with many old friends and had the pleasure of meeting many new friends of Camp Becket, Chimney Corners Camp, Travel and Service Programs and the Berkshire Outdoor Center.
We have heard from so many families that their experiences at Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA have been life changing. That the relationships they have formed are unique and precious. That the values and experiences are essential to who they are and the lives they live—professionally and personally. We, too, credit Becket and Chimney Corners with being foundational to who we are. We have also seen what the camps have come to mean to our families and the impact they have had on our children, changing their lives for good. This is why we have chosen to make Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA each of our families’ top philanthropic priority. We want to ensure that Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA remains strong well into the future.
Changing Lives: The Campaign for Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA is critical to strengthening the financial position of BCCYMCA -- so we can properly respond to any extraordinary events that may arise in the future, and so that the commitment to maintain, improve and invest in facilities, programs and financial aid is assured for future generations.
We are delighted to report that we have just passed the $12.35 million milestone! Additionally, we have surpassed our goal of increasing our endowment by $3 million, and we have significantly increased our Annual Fund. Now, we must raise another $3 million to implement our planned capital improvements.
Early capital support made possible the construction of the maintenance facility located off of Hamilton Road and the commencement of converting Camp Becket into a pedestrian friendly space. Other capital plans include:
- Building a new Camp Becket Dining Hall to address much needed occupancy space to preserve the camp community at meals
- Refurbishing the Paul Dudley White Building for everyday program space
- Finishing the lower level of the Chimney Corners Dining Hall for more program space for the summer camp and the Berkshire Outdoor Center
Our goal now is to raise $3 Million for capital and to complete the campaign in 2016. To do this we need the support of our entire community. We are asking everyone in the BCCYMCA family to stretch and to make Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA one of their top philanthropic priorities.
