We bring a half day or full day teambuilding and low elements program to your school campus. These programs are centered on building relationships, trust and communication skills. Utilizing experienced outside facilitators such as our staff, students have the opportunity and skills to collaborate as a team - either a kick off to their first time together or an opportunity to reset mid-year. More about Mobile Programs
Arrive at Berkshire Outdoor Center’s Berkshires campus as early as you wish for a half-day or full-day program, centered on any of our program focal points: Leadership Development & Teambuilding; Ecology & Environmental Education; Adventure-Based Learning; and Civic Engagement through Service.
Spending the day outdoors in the Berkshire Hills on our 1,350 acre forests can provide students tremendous experiential learning opportunities – whether it be spring, fall or winter.
For a thorough bonding and learning experience, students may spend 2-5 days and nights together on our gorgeous, rustic-yet-comfortable property. Students can experience new-place, new-brain experiential learning, partly facilitated by our exceptional staff and programs, and partly facilitated by "living together" in unfamiliar surroundings. Spending 24, 48 or 72 hours together, in a cabin or lodge in the clean mountain air, students bond. They return home with a new perspective on life, each other and the environment, and an appreciation for learning.
Sometimes there's a lot of learning to do, and a lot of fantastic activities to enjoy on our Berkshire campus. Our staff can visit your school and facilitate "teambuilding intensives". These 4 hour intensives can be in advance of your trip to the Berkshires, so that each group is fully 'formed' and can concentrate on the big activities once they are here. Additionally, follow up teambuilding intensives can reinforce experiences from the trip and keep students' focus on their new perspective and new relationships. Teambuilding focal points can include: communication, trust, collaboration, getting to know you, anti-bullying, peer support, or a combination.
Preparing students for the next stage of life is a focal point for schools, but with so much academic learning that must happen, there is not a lot of time in the school year to fully develop leadership, community engagement, service learning and college goal-setting skills and experiences.
Berkshire Outdoor Center runs day-camp-style leadership programs that offer students the opportunity to come together during the summer and focus on these areas through fun, educational experiences. Teambuilding, leadership development activities, accompanied by field trips and intensive learning on a college campus - library research, tutorials, lectures and student-led presentations give opportunities to Middle Schoolers that help prepare them for life ahead. These programs run on your school campus for 4 weeks. Our staff provide all programming and the school may provide lunches or require the students to bring them from home. More Information
