Becket Day Camp strives to offer a variety of program activities appropriate to the camper's age and ability. In the Discovery Program, campers participate in a counselor-led group activity, have a snack, hike to the waterfront, have open swim/splash at the waterfront, have lunch and then depart. In the Explorer program, campers participate in a counselor-led group activity, visit the waterfront, have lunch, participate in two camper choice activities, have a snack and then depart.
Swimming - Trained and certified American Red Cross Lifeguards are on duty each day. Our waterfront Buddy System requires “buddy checks” every 5 minutes for campers in the swim area. In order for day campers to swim beyond the designated shallow end, they are required to take a swim test to evaluate swimming ability and endurance.
Canoeing - Campers will learn how to enter and exit a canoe safely, the basic paddle strokes and safe conduct in the boat. After an instructional session, campers will head out onto the lake to practice their skills and explore the lake.
Climbing Tower (completing 2nd grade) Hike to the climbing tower to learn the basic elements of rock climbing skills, as well as to experience the belay safety system. The climbing tower is designed to provide a variety of difficulty and skill levels, to challenge each participant.

Archery (completing 2nd grade) - Learn basic shooting technique along with range safety. Practice your marksmanship and play games based on accuracy and technique.

Other activities offered include arts and crafts, nature activities, soccer, kickball, slip and slide. Additional activities are offered based on counselor skills and interests.
Overnight
Campers completing 5th grade can spend the night at Becket Day Camp and sleep in a tent! After participating in Thursday Family Night with a great cook-out dinner, skits and songs, join your fellow campers and counselors for an evening hike in the woods. Sleep in tent on one of the Becket Day Camp fields and enjoy a healthy breakfast before another full day of camp activities.
